The Caribbean
Development Bank (CDB)) has made energy sustainability in the region as one
of its priorities. In 2014, the Bank issued a report
“A New Paradigm for Caribbean Development:
Transitioning to a Green Economy”, which analyses the options to make a transition
to increased energy efficiency and use of renewable energy.
The Bank is now
developing special products to support renewable energy and energy efficiency
projects on concessionary terms. Two such special facilities are the geothermal
energy development facility and the proposed Sustainable Energy for the Eastern
Caribbean (SEEC) Programme. The general objective of the SEEC Programme is to reduce participating OECS
countries’ dependency on imported fossil fuels through energy efficiency and
renewable energy. Read more at http://www.caribank.org/SUSTAINABLE & CLEAN ENERGY | ENERGY EFFICIENCY | LOW CARBON DEVELOPMENT | CLIMATE CHANGE | ___________ TECHNOLOGY | POLICY | INVESTMENT
